Günyüzü, a district in Eskişehir, has seen a lot of damage to cultivated fields caused by wild boars. Farmers who deal with agriculture in neighborhoods connected to the district are in trouble this year due to wild boars. The wild boars, who sensed the smell of the remaining sugar beet planted last year, are now targeting fields sown with barley and wheat. The wild boars, who aim to reach the sugar beet under the ground, are causing damage to the sown barley and wheat. Some farmers have started to keep watch over their fields. Kazım Hisar, a farmer who works in Gümüşkonak neighborhood of the district, described the situation as follows: "This year, rainfalls have been good and we hope that it will be a fruitful year, but wild boars are causing damage to our crops. The wild boars, who sense the odor of the old sugar beet, are pillaging the fields. A solution must be found for this issue. We, the farmers, wish for a fruitful year."
