Düzenli Sağlık Kontrollerinin ÖnemiDüzenli Sağlık Kontrollerinin Önemi

Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Surgery, Prof. Dr. Baran Tokar, has been included as the only Turkish author in the book titled 'History of Pediatric MIS Surgery and Pediatric MIS Surgeons', which focuses on the historical development of pediatric endoscopic surgery and the contributions and development processes of pediatric surgeons who have pioneered this field.

In this book, edited by Ciro Esposito and Steven Scott Rothenberg, Prof. Dr. Baran Tokar provides information about minimal invasive surgical techniques. He explains that minimal invasive surgical techniques, which include endoscopic/laparoscopic procedures, have been preferred by pediatric surgeons since the late 1990s and early 2000s. These techniques offer better surgical field of view compared to open surgeries, provide easy access to areas that are difficult to reach in open procedures, result in less postoperative pain, and leave very small scars.

Prof. Dr. Baran Tokar has contributed to the book by discussing his individual national and international contributions to the initiation and development of this field, as well as the experiences and memories of pioneering pediatric surgeons who have devoted their efforts to the historical journey of pediatric endoscopic surgery in the chapter titled 'Magellan Expedition'.
