Akaryakıt İstasyonu Yanındaki Restoranda Yangın: Bir Kişi Hayatını Kaybetti, 17 YaralıDumlupınar University (DPÜ) Rector Professor Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak said, "Ayasofya means Istanbul. Ayasofya means the peace seal that the Turks have left on Anatolia and the world."
Rector Kızıltoprak attended the 'Ayasofya Workshop from History to the Present' organized by Kütahya Kadim Foundation.
Speaking at the workshop, Kızıltoprak said, "Ayasofya is a symbol, Ayasofya is the symbol of Istanbul. Ayasofya means Istanbul, it means the Ottoman Empire, it means the legacy of Fatih. Just as the Prophet Hz. Muhammad announced the conquest of Istanbul to us, Necip Fazıl announced that Ayasofya would open again. Ayasofya is the spirit of Turks, it is not just a stone, it is not just an architectural work. Ayasofya means Istanbul, Ayasofya means the peace seal that the Turks have left on Anatolia and the world. Necip Fazıl, who announced the opening of Ayasofya in 1965, said that Ayasofya would open on the day Turkish fortune opens. Indeed, our President reopened Ayasofya, declaring one of the brightest days in human history, consisting of billions of pages, as the day Turkish fortune opens, and said to the youth, 'As long as you nurture your love for Ayasofya in your hearts, it will rain down like a shower of mercy and it will become a flood, Ayasofya will open.' And when Ayasofya opened, this nation poured like a flood, filling Ayasofya, its interior, and Sultanahmet Square, becoming a part of this joy. Ayasofya has been reopened to never be closed again. The fact that Ayasofya never closes again will continue with the young people of this nation, the young people of Turkey, by their protection from dawn to dusk, by being there day and night," he said.
