Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts Glass Department students participated in the International Glass Biennial (IBG 2023), held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, for the fourth time this year.
The biennial, which hosted many artists from 48 countries internationally, included the opening of exhibitions in four different venues in Sofia. The curators of the exhibition titled "Beginnings" were Prof. Mustafa Ağatekin, Head of the Glass Department of Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts, and Asst. Prof. Monika Naydenova, Head of the Glass Department of New Bulgarian University Faculty of Fine Arts.
"I wish this beautiful beginning to reach greater goals globally"
Prof. Mustafa Ağatekin, one of the curators of the exhibition, made the following comments about the exhibition:
"I wish this beautiful beginning we made in the field of glass art on behalf of our country and our university to reach greater goals globally. I would also like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the Embassy of Sofia for their contributions to the transfer of the artworks in this exhibition."
A selection of works by faculty members and students from both universities was presented at the exhibition held at UniArt Gallery. The works of Mustafa Ağatekin, Mehmet Aydın, Güçlü Polat, Pınar Demirel, Melike Akay, Deniz Demir, Oraltay Canıtez, İbrahim Efe Üstün, Atakan Efe Tansel, Hale Albayrak Ersoy, Göksu Çınar, Parisha Ghanbarzade, Simge Kayalı, and Ayşenur Sarı from Anadolu University were exhibited for art enthusiasts. In addition, the works of 13 artists from New Bulgarian University were also exhibited at the exhibition.
The exhibition organized within the scope of the Bulgarian Glass Biennial will be open for visit until November 31, 2023. The entire contents of the biennial and exhibitions can be accessed from the biennial's official YouTube channel, International Biennale of Glass Bulgaria.
