1380 Yılında Osmanlıca Yazılan Kitap, Günümüz Türkçesine ÇevrildiAnadolu University Rector, Prof. Dr. Fuat Erdal, attended the Special Meeting of Turkish University Association Rectors in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The Special Meeting of Turkish University Association (TURKUNIB) Rectors was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with the participation of the current Chairman of TURKUNIB, Azerbaijan State Economic University, the University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan, and the University of Oriental Studies in Tashkent. Rectors of TURKUNIB member universities, high-level officials, and representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, including Anadolu University Rector Prof. Dr. Fuat Erdal and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Resul Usul, attended the meeting.
Komiljon Karimov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, who addressed the participants at the opening of the meeting, highlighted the importance of the event, which would contribute to the development of cooperation in science and education. Sadi Jafarov, Deputy Secretary-General of TURKSOY, conveyed a message from Ambassador Kubanichbek Omuraliey, Secretary-General of the Turkic States Organization (TDT), emphasizing the importance of discussing cooperation within TURKUNIB to achieve tangible results by utilizing the members' opportunities in education.

Expressing his satisfaction at attending the meeting, Rector Erdal emphasized the importance of the TDT Turkish University Association and Anadolu University's over 40 years of experience in open and distance education, pioneering studies in digitalization in higher education, and profound accumulation in culture and art in developing projects and initiatives for collaboration. "As a university, we have shared the high education dreams of millions of our people. With our Central Asia initiative, we have started to offer qualified higher education services to our compatriots in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan after Azerbaijan. We continue to sign significant collaborations to reach the entire geography of the Turkish world, particularly in the field of education but also in social and cultural areas. With this in mind, we are aware of how crucial TDT TURKUNIB is and the great potential it holds for Turkish universities, and we continue our efforts accordingly."
During the continuation of the meeting, the participants discussed the existing opportunities and challenges of the Orhun Exchange Program and prepared a roadmap for TURKUNIB's activities for the 2023-2024 period. The parties also exchanged views on the applications of universities that want to become members of the Association. During the meeting, the Turkish Literature Names Dictionary Encyclopedia, consisting of twenty volumes, published by Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Kazakh-Turk University, was presented by Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Following the Special Meeting, the participants attended a workshop titled "Efrasiyab (Alp Er Tunga)."
Honorary speaker Turkish scientist, Nobel laureate Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar also addressed the workshop participants via video conference and shared his thoughts on preserving Turkish heritage and educating younger generations.
