Anadolu University Integrated School for the Disabled, which is the first and only institution in Turkey that provides higher education for hearing-impaired youth, was established in 1992 through a United Nations project. Leading the dedicated faculty members at the School is the Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehranur Kaya, and the Deputy Directors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Özten Anay and Dr. Ayşe Tanrıdiler.

Integrated School for the Disabled aims to be a world-class educational institution, providing hearing-impaired youth with quality education and enabling them to become respected and productive individuals in both their professional and social lives, overcoming any disability discrimination in society.

As of 2023, the school has 114 students, with 31 graduates in the same year. The programs have a limited capacity of 11 students each. The school has a total of 3 professors, 6 associate professors, 4 PhD lecturers, 1 teaching assistant professor, and 11 lecturers. The total number of graduates from the school is 683. Along with projects to improve the education process and support employment for graduates, the school also conducts university-industry collaboration efforts.

The school offers education in four programs.

In the Applied Fine Arts Department, there are Graphic Arts Main Art Branch, Ceramic Main Art Branch. In the Computer Usage Department, there is the Computer Operator Associate Degree Program. In the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, there are Building Fine Arts Associate Degree Programs. Students enrolled in the Integrated School for the Disabled study at the Mandatory Turkish Preparation Class for one year. Students who pass the level placement and exemption exams at the beginning of the semester start their first year in the program they have been accepted into. While the school is unique in terms of the students it serves in Turkey, it is also among the few institutions worldwide. The workshops and laboratories for hearing-impaired youth are equipped with up-to-date technology by Anadolu University, with each student having their own computer according to the needs of their program.

Students are required to do internships.

The Integrated School for the Disabled, where internships are mandatory for all programs, has a Coordinator and a course dedicated to internships to introduce and monitor the processes before, during, and after the internship period. The Coordinator follows the entire internship process and provides necessary training, while students receive support according to their language and needs levels. In the last years of the school, there are courses to increase awareness of post-graduation career planning and internship studies, and senior students are constantly supported by faculty members. Students at the Integrated School for the Disabled can also benefit from the Erasmus programs offered by Anadolu University.

57% of graduates work in their respective fields.

The school has a total of 9 computer laboratories, 12 workshops (Drawing, Mud Workshop, Glazing Workshop, Casting, Decoration, etc.), and 4 language classrooms. The classes at the school are conducted according to the language levels and needs of hearing-impaired students. The aim is for graduates of the school to contribute as useful and productive individuals to themselves, the society, and the country. Graduates of Anadolu University Integrated School for the Disabled can work in the private sector and public institutions in accordance with their fields of study. According to a survey conducted by faculty members in 2021, 80% of the graduates of the Integrated School for the Disabled are employed and 57% of them work in their respective fields.

A center for scientific research and art.

Faculty members at the Integrated School for the Disabled carry out master's/doctoral theses and projects on school improvement, language skills development, vocational education and career awareness for hearing-impaired individuals. The results of these studies are presented at national and international conferences, seminars, and symposiums, and are published in national and international indexed journals. With four projects within the framework of university-industry cooperation for qualified employment of hearing-impaired individuals, a useful model is being created for their professional life processes. The students of the school, through the collaboration of vocational courses and language courses, have published the 28th issue of the Integrated News school newspaper, which has been worked on for 16 years. At the End of Year Exhibition organized by Anadolu University Integrated School for the Disabled each year, the works of all students are shared with the entire campus and the city.
