1380 Yılında Osmanlıca Yazılan Kitap, Günümüz Türkçesine ÇevrildiAfyon Kocatepe University (AKU) International Relations Practice and Research Center (IRPRC) organized an information meeting for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) on the Erasmus Student Mobility for Studies and Erasmus Student Mobility for Internship programs. The meeting, moderated by Emin Paftalı, an instructor at the Department of Cinema and Television in the FFA, featured Merve Malak, the responsibility for student mobility for studies at IRPCT, and Turan Ulaş, the responsibility for student mobility for internships, as speakers. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sena Coşkun, the Deputy Dean of FFA, academic staff, and students.
"We are maximizing our grants"
Merve Malak, the responsibility for student mobility for studies, informed the students about the Erasmus Student Mobility for Studies. She discussed the activities carried out by the Erasmus Office for students, saying, "We organize the announcement evaluation and outcome processes for all mobility programs. At the same time, we organize a foreign language exam for our students to benefit from student mobility for studies and internships. Every year, the Turkey National Agency allocates us projects under both KA131 and KA171, and as the Erasmus Office, we strive to use these grants to the maximum by sending more students and staff."
Explaining the Erasmus KA131 and KA171 projects, Merve Malak said, "We call the mobility programs with EU member countries KA131. If you are conducting mobility with a country outside of Europe, we call it KA171. There is a fundamental difference between KA131 and KA171 in terms of student mobility for studies; for KA131, there must be an agreement related to your field of study with a European country. Without an agreement related to your field of study, you cannot carry out any mobility with any European country."
AKU is the top institution in the consortium in Turkey
Turan Ulaş, the responsibility for student mobility for internships, shared information with students about the selection criteria for participants, required documents, the process after selection, informing the selected students, monthly grant amounts, and travel support depending on the activity conducted and the country visited. Ulaş said, "Internship activity means that active students in higher education institutions do internships in institutions they find in Europe related to their own field of work. In this sense, students at Afyon Kocatepe University are very lucky. Because we are the top institution in the consortium in Turkey, we receive the most grants and have the most consortiums. We have not rejected a single student who meets the application criteria and applied. The duration of our internships ranges from 2 to 12 months. During the undergraduate program, you have 12 months. If you pursue a master's degree, you have another 12 months, and if you pursue a doctorate, another 12 months. We advise our students to apply for student mobility for studies in the first place and then if they want to do an internship in that country or another country before completing their studies. There is no requirement for an agreement in internships. As long as you receive an acceptance letter from the country or place you want, you have the opportunity to do an internship."
The meeting ended after a question and answer session.
